Sons of Bransford (S.O.B.)

The Sons of Bransford, commonly known as the S.O.B.s, is a group of African American men and women dedicated to serving as mentors, leaders, inventors, and sources of inspiration for others, both young and old. They embody the principles set forth by their namesake, Mr. Jim Bransford, demonstrating that they are redeemable, responsible, and resilient in overcoming life's challenges while contributing significantly to the community.

Their mission for the past 19 years has been to create opportunities to identify and honor African American men and women who have positively impacted the community's social conditions and the lives of individuals through their quiet and not-so-quiet leadership and resilience in the face of trials and tribulations. In the spirit of the award namesake, Jim Bransford, like him, is worthy of receiving their flowers while they can still smell them!

Join us on June 25th for an inspirational and empowering evening honoring Jim's life, acknowledging the achievements of former awardees, celebrating this year's awardees' strength, courage, and providing hope to others, and marking twenty years of the “S.O.B. Award.”
